The Adaptive Learning System

The Adaptive Learning System (ALS) is a system that can adjust itself for each individual student. It has the following major features:

       (1) Class content is personalized. Based on a student's previous scores, ALS will generate a set of questions that will meet this student's own level. If a student has an excellent score history, more advanced questions will be included in the next set of questions. If a student's scores show that he or she needs more practice, ALS will keep the next set of questions at the same level. Therefore, what you have learned is created specially for you, although many other students may take the same class.
       (2)  Questions are categorized. All questions are classified into different categories, and each category forms  a class. For example, all SAT questions are classified into 5 classes: Vocabulary, Grammar, Reading Comprehension, Math, and Practice Test. A student may pick up only the classes that covers his or her weak areas.   .
       (3)  Exercises are given in sections. Each section contains a certain number of questions. The default section size is 25, which is approximately the same as  many standardarized tests.
       (4) Real time grading. Once a section is done, ALS will grade it right away and present an overall result and a detailed report. If student's answer to a question is wrong, the correct answer will be given at the same question line in red.
       (5) All student works are saved in the system as history. Students may review those questions at any time. He or she may also add a comment to a question, or read comments written by other students or teachers. We encourage our students to write down their comments, e.g., a new method on how to solve this question, or, why the answer is, to say, B, etc.
       (6) Self-paced. Each student may learn at his or her own pace.

So far, four classes are ready for registration: SAT Vocabulary, SAT Grammar, SAT Reading Comprehension, and SAT Math, with total about 20,000 questions. Classes for lower grades are coming soon. For more information about registration, please call us at (201)-233-6285.
